August 11, 2014

Welcome to the twenty-third edition of the Little Happies link-up here at True Good and Beautiful.

Here is what’s been going on in our world.

Brother Pio Mary!!!!!

Our dear friend Jeff entered the Dominicans a couple weeks back and just this past week he received his habit and religious name.

We are so happy for him! πŸ™‚

This song came out over a year ago and I’ve loved it since the first time I heard it.

Why it’s on the Little Happies list this week is because we sang it at Mass on Sunday. Between the Gospel reading (about Peter walking on water/doubting/Jesus saving him) and this song…my soul was resting in total peace. Thankfully that is more common these days. I won’t say my darkest days of infertility are gone forever but I think a majority of them are behind me and for that I am so grateful.

God’s is truly changing me through this. I cried during these lyrics of the song, since I know that through infertility God is answering this prayer of my heart:

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me
Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Savior

I was afraid this would end up going down in history as a Pintrest-fail…and my first attempt was.

But then I found a great tutorial on YouTube on how to make burlap bows and everything was made right in the world.

Can’t be a Little Happies without Wrigley making an appearance!

I really don’t know how he gets into half the sleeping positions he does.

He’s such a good pup and we just started Puppy Kindergarten Class for some basic training and socialization. Β Seeing fifteen puppies all meeting one another in a class setting had to be the most adorable thing I saw all week.

We saw Guardians of The Galaxy and it was awesome.

Best character ever?

Groot.

We saw it at an AMC in town that only has lounging recliner seats (awesome!) and brought along sushi and candy to complete our “dinner and a movie” night out.

I totally recommend the movie. And sushi. And candy. πŸ™‚

That’s a wrap for this week. Catch ya later!

    1) The photos from your friend entering his order are SO COOL! 2) GotG was SO GOOD! 3) Your burlap bow project (nice work!) reminds me of when I decided to DIY all the flowers and boutonnieres for our wedding. Pinterest wasn’t big yet, so I all I had was some Martha Stewart how-tos, and I was pretty impressed with my inner craftmeister!

Wow, doing the boutonnieres for your own wedding had to be QUITE the task! Way to go on tackling that with style! πŸ™‚

Yay! Another Groot fan!! So glad you guys liked it. πŸ™‚ Actually, I almost wrote about Guardians of the Galaxy in my LH post too! But decided to hold off because we’ve watched some other really great movies lately and I figured it’d just be best to do another movies post. Another movie we loved (and I plan on including in the post) is the Grand Budapest Hotel. Have you seen it yet? SO GOOD!

I’ve always LOVED Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) too! I especially love hearing it during Adoration. It’s awesome that your church is already covering it! What a special treat!

And congrats to your friend! Pio and Mary are great namesakes!

A movie with sushi and candy? Sounds amazing! I also love the idea of that many puppies in one place. How fun. πŸ™‚

Your bow is exquisite!!! Just beautiful! Thank goodness for online tutorials. I’d sure need one. πŸ™‚
Congratulations to your friend! It must be such an incredible feeling to be there for his entrance into religious life!
I love the song in #2 as well — it is beautiful and uplifting.

Love the pictures of your friend entering the Dominicans, and what a great name! I don’t know if we’re allowed to pick, but if we are Dominicans are my favorite order :). I love the craft too, its so cute! And your puppy just looks too cuddily! Groot was my husband’s and my favorite character too, even though I disliked him most from the previews. Such a fun movie!
