Hello! My Name is Wrigley.

July 20, 2014

Wrigley, meet the world.

World, meet Wrigley.

He is a 7 week old English Labrador Retriever and is 100% adorable.

We are HUGE dog lovers and basically vowed that as soon as we were no longer renting, we would get a dog. We are very excited for this addition to the family!

The next couple weeks will be filled with training him and house breaking this little guy. I am sure he’ll do great since his temperament is sweet, laid-back, and eager to please. The goal is to have this little guy totally trained before we adopt so we can work on that whole transition to parenthood thing without worrying about Wrigley chewing my shoes to pieces. We’ll see how that goes! 🙂

wriggles.jpgPS – For those curious folks out there wondering how we came up with the name Wrigley – I wanted the name Brinkley (the dog from You’ve Got Mail) but Jonathan thought it was too cliche, which it totally was. He happens to be a huge Cubs fan (since his dad grew up in Illinois) and Wrigley sounded sort of like Brinkley but was far more original. 😉 Settled.

Thanks! We are going to really have to buckle down to train this guy since I will likely be easily manipulated by his sweetness! 🙂

Hiiiii, Wrigley! So stinkin’ cute! Hope day one of puppy parenting went well. 🙂 We have the same plans you guys did… buy a house, then get the pup. So, we’ll likely be following in your footsteps in the next few years. Eeeee, puppies!

I am glad this is part of your hopeful plans as well! 🙂 I feel like a dog adds so much to family memories and atmosphere….granted they are trained well! 🙂

So cute!!! We have the same plans as you and Stephanie it looks like! House first then pup. Luke wants a lab since that’s what he grew up with. I’ve never heard of an Old English Lab, I’ll have to look into it, cuz Wrigley is adorable!!

Love that you gals have the same plans! Seems like we are all on the same page of life. Adoption, house, and puppy on the radar in upcoming years 🙂 I’m excited you want a lab too! The English line is less prone to hip-displasia and tend to be more relaxed and even-keeled. We know a family who breeds them every spring, so let me know if and when you might want some information! 🙂

Sounds awesome! Thank you for the info, I will definitely let you know when we are looking into it more. Luke’s family’s lab Bella is so sweet. I grew up with a beagle and even though I loved him so so much he was definitely stinky and mischievous! I’ve always thought a lab seemed like a great family dog.

Hello! I love your blog, am also a Christian and have just named my puppy Wrigley! He’s a cute black and tan Cavalier and my husband is a Cub’s fan. We’re just 4 hours away from Chicago where Wrigley is a very popular name for dogs. I’m hoping we’re far enough away for the name to be a little bit unique! I think Wrigley sounds very classy and cute!
