Financial Peace University Giveaway!

August 27, 2014

Drum roll please….

It’s time for a giveaway around the True Good and Beautiful blog!

What are we giving away, you ask? (just in case you didn’t see the title…)

3 FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY MEMBERSHIPS!!!!

If you know our story, you are well aware that Dave Ramsey has a huge influence on how we choose to live. Using his materials and methods are the sole reasons we are debt-free and living on a budget today. Dave Ramsey’s message has literally changed out entire life.

And we can’t help but pass along this opportunity to others.

No, we weren’t given these by Dave Ramsey’s company.

We are simply a family who believes so powerfully in the freedom that comes in handling money God’s way that we want to pay it forward to someone else. We want to bless an individual or family who would benefit from going through this class.

What is Financial Peace University (FPU)?

“Financial Peace Universityย is a nine-week class on money taught by America’s most trusted financial guru, Dave Ramsey. Dave and his teaching teamย will walk you through the basics of budgeting, dumping debt, planning for the future, and much more!”

www.youtube.com/watch?v=62emrljp03c

You can see a sample of all nine lessons here.

Most classes start up in a couple of weeks, hence the giveaway. You can see a list of locations, dates, and times at the FPU website.

Jonathan and I have attended and facilitated Financial Peace University and it’s been a huge blessing in our life and parish. If you could benefit from sprucing up your finances or demolishing old habits and starting over, then sign up to win one of these classes we are giving away.

It literally can change your life and the lives of those around you.

Lastly – I shouldn’t have to say this but…if you know you will not complete all nine classes and take the class seriously, DO NOT ENTER THIS CONTEST! If you are ready to dive in and apply yourself in class, ENTER ALL YOU CAN! We want to make sure the people with the right attitudesย are the ones who win this opportunity.

Best wishes and “may the odds be ever in your favor!” ๐Ÿ™‚

We are working on our own to become debt free, but would love the insights of Dave Ramsey to further advance our efforts

Awesome to hear you’re working towards freedom! ๐Ÿ™‚ Nothing like Dave to give you the extra boost! Thanks for entering!

I think that it’s awesome that you’re doing this! I would love to enter, but I’m not sure if I can or not. There’s only one class that MIGHT work for me. If it does, I’ll be back to enter. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Reply Amanda August 28, 2014 at 8:19 pm

Well you can always keep looking back on the website since classes are always popping up throughout the year!

  • Reply Brea August 27, 2014 at 12:27 pm

I read The Total Money Makeover in FOCUS, but never really took it much further than that, mostly because I never had money to manage. Ha! I’ve recently made some pretty stealthy “gazelle”-like lifestyle changes and am preparing to attack this mountain of debt head on. The FPU would be a great motivator and accountability partner. Thanks for this opportunity!!!

    • Reply Amanda August 28, 2014 at 8:18 pm

Way to go with starting gazelle mode!!! FPU would be the perfect motivator!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Reply Caralyn August 27, 2014 at 6:48 pm

I know that God specifically called me to attend Auburn because he would bring FOCUS there and change my life, but I’m determined to be debt free by 30 and I need a coach!

(Confession: I don’t have Twitter so I couldn’t advertise you there!)

    • Reply Amanda August 28, 2014 at 8:17 pm

Sounds like a good goal! Dave would be a great coach too ๐Ÿ™‚

What a great gift. Dave Ramsey’s principles have helped so many. Especially needed in our culture today. We read 7 Steps to Financial Freedom when we first got married and it was a huge help in helping us have a budget, pay off our student loans, and save for the future.

[…] we are running the Financial Peace Giveaway, it only seemed right that we formally share the story of how we became debt […]

  • Reply Emily August 29, 2014 at 5:27 am

Would love to attend this class as my husband and I are just beginning to tackle some massive student loans!

  • Reply sarah August 29, 2014 at 7:40 am

Amanda, I am really enjoying your blog! I think I would love these courses. I remember laughing through much of his book. For some reason I can budget for a conference, but not for my own home. Good grief!

    • Reply Amanda August 29, 2014 at 10:53 am

I totally understand that. I would do the same thing – budget for sorority positions or missionary events…but not for myself. Eep! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Reply Andi August 29, 2014 at 7:52 am

I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog Amanda and Jonathon. We never read all of Dave Ramsey’s stuff other than what I learned while on staff but have used his basic philosophy of snowballing debt away.Sean and I paid off our student loans this Spring and our now attacking an old medical bill from Sean’s college years. We cannot WAIT to be debt free and start saving for a house!! Good for you guys for being debt free!

    • Reply Amanda August 29, 2014 at 10:59 am

Way to go on kicking student loans in the face ๐Ÿ™‚ Cheering you on as you tackle the medical bill!

  • Reply Celia August 29, 2014 at 7:57 am

I came to look for updates to your blog as I’m listening to Dave Ramsey in the background, ha ๐Ÿ™‚ My husband and I would love to attend these classes as we’ve been working the Dave Ramsey plan since we received The Total Money Makeover during our engagement a year and a half ago. It’s been going slowly as we’ve been walking the infertility journey this past year (which brought me to your blog) and FPU would be a great shot to helping us become more “gazelle-intense.”

Thanks for your ministry of this blog – its a help to fellow Catholic couples like us! God bless you!

    • Reply Amanda August 29, 2014 at 10:57 am

perfect timing! ๐Ÿ™‚ Dave Ramsey is always on in the background at our house! We love using the commercial free Audio Archives section on the Dave Ramsey app. I’m glad our blog has been a blessing for you. That’s the goal ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Reply Anna August 29, 2014 at 9:39 am

Thanks for all your posts! I’ve really enjoyed reading them and using your tips. I’ve made some extra cash this summer by selling things on Craiglist which is super helpful for a grad student-so thanks for suggesting that & Ebay. I’m hoping that FPU will help with budgeting & planning for the future! God bless ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Reply Amanda August 29, 2014 at 10:58 am

Great work on selling items! Thanks for entering ๐Ÿ™‚

My boyfriend and I have been discussing engagement. With us both being teachers we’ll be on a tight budget once we’re engaged as well as he has some student loans and a car payment. I’d love to learn how we can stay out of debt and live on a budget.

    • Reply Amanda September 2, 2014 at 9:22 am

Talking about finances and getting on the same page before engagement is wise! Best wishes to you both!

  • Reply Tomato August 30, 2014 at 6:40 pm

My coworker just started this and it seems great! And my husband and I could really use to get our finances in order!

I’ve read a decent amount about Dave and I love learning about finance stuff! His class would be great! Need to knock out those student loans!

    • Reply Amanda September 2, 2014 at 9:23 am

The class and audio archives on his app are the two most motivating things I have encountered. They build really well off the foundation the books offer. Thanks for entering! Best luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have already been through FPU so I’m not registering, but just had to say how AWESOME this is! FPU changed the way I look at money! You are giving an incredible gift to three very blessed people!!

  • Reply Matt September 2, 2014 at 3:06 pm

We’ve completed Baby Step 2 but have never been to FPU!

  • Reply polkadot September 2, 2014 at 4:37 pm

We could definitely benefit from learning more about budgeting and planning for the future. I’ve heard great things about Dave Ramsey too.
