December 30, 2013

This week I am over at my dear friend Catherine Boucher’s blog, Hallelujiah is My Song, discussing the cross of infertility. In case you’ve missed the posts leading up to this last and final one…check them out below:

Today is the fourth and final post in this series. It’s all about what you can do to shoulder the burden to friends and family experiencing infertility. Or if you are experiencing it yourself, there are resources to check out. I hope this series has been a blessing to everyone who ends up reading it.

See you over at Hallelujiah is My Song for Part 4 of The Cross of Infertility.

The Cross of Infertility: An Interview Part 3

December 29, 2013

I didn’t think I would have time to post this today but low and behold, I found a spare 10 minutes 🙂

This week I am over at my dear friend Catherine Boucher’s blog, Hallelujiah is My Song, discussing the cross of infertility. We will have a 4-part series on the following topics:

  1. Introducing the series and Amanda (& Jonathan!)
  2. Understanding how infertility feels
  3. What NOT to do when your loved one is facing infertility
  4. How to encourage and lift up a couple facing infertility.  Encouragement and resources from Amanda.

Today is the third post and it’s all about what NOT to say to a couple experiencing infertility. Of course, it’s not the most extensive list out there but I hope it’s a start for those wanting to learn about how avoid hurtful comments/questions with your family and friends experiencing infertility.

See you over at Hallelujiah is My Song for Part 3 of The Cross of Infertility.

The Cross of Infertility: An Interview Part 2

December 28, 2013

This upcoming week, I will be over at my dear friend Catherine Boucher’s blog, Hallelujiah is My Song, discussing the cross of infertility.

Today is the second post! I’ve already gotten positive feedback from many of you reading along with us. Thank you! I really don’t write this for myself…but for the support of others experiencing this cross and education for those who are loving them in its midst.

See you over at Hallelujiah is My Song for Part 2 of The Cross of Infertility.

The Cross of Infertility : An Interview Part 1

December 27, 2013

This upcoming week, I will be over at my dear friend Catherine Boucher’s blog, Hallelujiah is My Song, discussing the cross of infertility.

A few weeks back Catherine initiated this conversation and thought exploring this topic would benefit both couples struggling with infertility and those who want to support friends and family they know who experience it as well.

To be honest – I am slightly nervous about these posts because of their vulnerability and the fact that my biggest struggles are about to be laid out for all to see. At the same time, I know that sharing my own struggles and experiences will help other couples battling infertility realize they are “normal” for having so may negative thoughts and emotions at times. I hope it will also provide a place for them to relate with my husband and I…and possibly find some humor (which is SO needed when dealing with infertility). For those who are supporting family and friends carrying the cross of infertility, I think these posts will lay out some practical tips for you to follow in word and deed.

See you over at Hallelujiah is My Song for Part 1 of The Cross of Infertility!

Amanda on FOCUS’ 30 Under 30

December 17, 2013

To those of you who have come to our blog from the link on Amanda’s 30 Under 30 profile, welcome. Have a look around, and be sure to subscribe to our blog using the box on the sidebar.

FOCUS is currently running a “30 under 30” series on the FOCUS blog. They took nominations from readers of the top young Catholics under 30 years old making a difference in the Church today. Out of the over 150 nominations, Amanda was selected. FOCUS intentionally kept the number of FOCUS missionaries featured low (only 2), so it’s even more impressive Amanda was chosen.

From Amanda’s 30 Under 30 Profile:

How do you take some of the most influential college students in America and turn them into evangelists for the Catholic Church? Meet Amanda Teixeira. She is the National Director and Founder of FOCUS Greek, an initiative ofFOCUS. FOCUS Greek exists “to revolutionize Greek culture for Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church that impacts today, tomorrow, and eternity through raising up a transformed generation of fraternity and sorority leaders convicted to bring truth to the world.”
